Riverglen Camp and Backpackers at Coroglen, situated on the banks of the Waiwawa river, with one of the best freshwater swimming holes on the East coast of the Coromandel.

We are surrounded by native bush, central - it's an easy 15-minute drive to Hot Water Beach, Cathedral Cove, Tairua or Whitianga and a beautiful waterfall is just 10 minutes walk from our gate. Spend the day enjoying the beaches and local activities and return to wash of the sand and salt in our amazing swimming hole or chill out at the camp while the kids and the dog wear themselves out in the clear water of the Waiwawa river.

Awesome spot! Is pet friendly and the best spot for dogs. Our two where ao happy next to the river. We had a great private spot tucked in a clearing surrounded by trees. Was lovely and private and perfect for our dogs to run around. Thanks so much for a relaxing few days!

This is a great place to stay theres a swimming hole which is gorgeous the host makes sure there are sectioned off areas for noisy people and a family area etc... Bring bug spray.... I've been staying there every year for about 5 years over xmas To new years period... I wholeheartedly recommend!!!

Riverglen Holiday Camp & Backpackers is a family run business, current hosts Wayne and Gemma have been managing since December 2010, campground was established by Rex and Patti, Wayne's parents.

Wayne is a builder, and over the past twenty years built most of the buildings at Riverglen Holiday Park, Coromandel.

Both Gemma and Wayne are keen trampers, and can tell you all the best tramps and local tracks for you to explore during your Coromandel holiday, or for those keen to go fishing for the perfect catch, Wayne is a very keen fisherman and can share the best Coromandel fishing spots.

We have 3 adult sons who have loved growing up with the Coromandel lifestyle – Riverglen Holiday is a great spot for kids - there always somewhere new to check out.
